They keep the stuff separately into 6 categories.

Right side is ancient shekel found here probably from 2nd temple period 2000 years ago.

Left current 2 shekel coin that use same design.

The real pleasure of being in Israel is to do the things you can only do in Israel.

There are many excavation site here and some are open for anybody so I went out to digging site yesterday with my friends. It is just side by old city.

The sand they excavating was moved from the underground the Temple mount when Moslem people renovated the temple. The temple mount exist from Solomon's time called '1 temple period' which is 3000 years ago that means the relics contain all kind of era.

It was my first time to take part in excavation work although only in the morning.

4 of us washed away 50 buckets politely by the mesh of a net and found many part of pottery, mosaic, bones.

Afterwards we separated the stuff we found out of the buckets into 6 sections

Pottery, Mosaic, Iron, Glass, bone, special stone which is marble or has human processing on one of side of the stone.

We wanted to find the ancient coin from 1st or 2nd century period or Jesus time.

The staff showed us some special stuff found here at this excavation site.

Coins, ring, arrow so on.

He said, there are 3000 coins found here.

It was good fun

And recently special coin was on news.

昨日、エルサレムの神殿の丘の城壁の外にある発掘サイトへ友だち4人と出かけました。

この宝の土は、イスラム教徒たちが神殿の一部を工事した時、その時出てきた土で一度、谷へ捨てられていました。でもその土は、ソロモンの神殿の時代からの物を含むもので、考古学的にはすごく価値を持っています。なぜなら3000年前のものを含むからです。

イスラエルサイドは、イスラム教にこの捨てられた土を譲るように、5年間交渉してようやく許可をもらってそうです。そしてその作業は膨大なため、誰にでもそれを手伝えるようにオープンにしています(無料)。

僕にとっては、はじめてのプチ発掘作業で、4人で午前中だけで50バケツを洗い出しました。

そして僕たちは、3000年前の物から、近世のオットーマンの時代まで、いろんなものを見つけ、

下の６つのカテゴリーの沿って分けました。

土器、モザイク、動物の骨、ガラス、鉄、特別な石(大理石・加工物)です。

後でスタッフに倉庫を見せてもらい、今まで見つけてきたいろんなものを見せてもらいました。

とても楽しい経験でした。

Going to the Sea of Galilee

How are u everyone? I am doing well and am in the middle of Intensive Biblical Geography class this 2 weeks. And thank you for keeping on visiting my blog.
We are going to Galilee from this Tuesday for 3 days and are planing to visit Capernaum, Nazareth, Megiddo, Caesarea so on.
Pls look forward to seeing those pictures as I have been taking so much picutres out of field trips.

Being in Jerusalem and in Bible collage are really cool that brings me closer to God more and more and I can't help thanking God that He sent his only son to here where now I stand...so touching!!
